Quotes to improve your mindset

In need of some Motivation? Check out this collection of quotes to improve your mindset to have a more incredible day and life.

Today Matters

“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” – Annie Dillard

This is one of my favourite quotes, it is a blunt reminder that today is as important as any goal we are striving for, any trip we are planning, it’s more important than all of our wants, because today is our life. Tomorrow becomes today, yesterday was a today only hours ago.

It’s easy to put things off, to sit on the couch and watch Netflix. To say, I’ll do it tomorrow. However, in old age, when you look back on your life, what do you want to see? Adventures, or Netflix and the mundane?

Change your mindset and make today count.

Take Responsibility

“No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.” – Voltaire

It is very easy to go about our day to day lives not taking responsibility for other people’s lives or the state of the world. We assume we are not in a position of power to change the world for better so we sit back and wait for someone else to do it.

The thing is, if we really want to create a world that is better for us all to live in, the difference needs to begin with us. With social media at our fingertips we have the power to reach a lot of people, even in our day to day lives we can positively influence those around us and in turn they influence the people around them.

It is time to change your mindset and take responsibility for your actions, to be the change in the world.

Make Memories Daily

“Many people die at 25, but aren’t buried until 75” – Benjamin Franklin

It is very easy to fall into our everyday routine. We create habits to begin our day, we go to the same job, and have the same conversations We eat the same foods and take the same vacations.

Change your  mindset and mix each day up, create new memories every day. Make new plans and got to new places.

Be Authentic

“The most common form of despair is not being who you are.” – Soren Kierkegarrd

We sometimes don’t say or do certain things because we are worried about how we will be perceived. We want ourselves and the people around us to be honest and credible but it’s not that simple. It is ingrained in us through our upbringing and social expectactions that it is important to fit in with society and be liked. We are constantly trying to better ourselves so we are more likeable.

However, we are all unique, and by having an open mind about others and their individuality maybe we can strive to be a little more true to ourselves also. It is not easy to be authentic but with a little self searching to get to know your true self, with courage and boldness we can contribute so much more to this world by stepping outside the box and being a little different.

It is time to change your mindset and be true to yourself, no matter what others think.

Don’t Overthink It

“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.” – Dr Seuss

So often, we are faced with a question or problem that we over analyze or over think or try to solve in one big answer. Often the what may appear as a large issue can be broken down into bite sized chunks where the answers are simple.

Change your mindset when it comes it problems, pause and think clearly. Every mountain is climbed one step at a time.
