“Self care isn’t just drinking water and going to sleep early. Self care is taking a break when things become overwhelming, saying no to things you do not want to do, allowing yourself to cry, asking for help from those around you and doing things that make you happy.”
Its been almost a year since I posted a series for Healthy Mind Power Week. Seeing this explanation of what self care is, has inspired me to post a November Healthy Mind Power Week. Thanks Teigan! Check out her amazing Instagram and what her program ” Girls Who Glow” does for Young Women here.
Let’s dive into day 1!
This is a fast paced world. We are trying to climb the career ladder, stay fit at the gym, socialize with friends, spend time with family and basically living on coffee with a poor diet. No wonder you’ve found yourself here realizing you need some self care to maintain your sanity!
Breathe, first realize you are absolutely NOT alone! We have all burnt the candle at both ends at some point in life (probably more than once). This week I want to focus on self care. Because if you are not ok, how can you expect to care for your dependents or loved ones? There’s more to life than go, go, go!
The Challenge
Today, I want you to say no to something. It’s ok to be busy and not be able to attend or do everything. Your challenge today is to schedule in AT LEAST 15 minutes of YOU time. Go on. Actually schedule a time and stick to it.
Use the hashtag #healthymindpowerweek and tag us _mindbodylife so we can see how you are committing to self care and how you are spending your YOU time today!
See you back here tomorrow for day 2 of our self care challenge.
Love and Light
